Former Paragon Cafe Leased to Giro DÍtalia

Gorman Commercial’s Dean Alexander recently leased the former Paragon Café at 651 Rathdowne Street, Carlton to up and coming chef, Dom De Marco. Dom has worked in  Michelin Star restaurants in Europe for 10 years and moved to Australia in 2009 working at Rockpool in Sydney and Rosetta in Melbourne. The new restaurant is called Giro DÍtalia. The ornate two-level corner Victorian building of 250 sqm comprises a full commercial kitchen, bar with indoor/outdoor seating. The rent achieved was undisclosed, but was believed to be around $400/psm. Dean Alexander said, “The restaurant needed a new lease of life and Dom certainly brings new energy, enthusiasm and quality food to a part of Rathdowne Street that needed a spark.”
